First, thanks to everyone actively participating in the forums. There are quite a number of interesting suggestions which I'll be implementing in future releases.

I'm currently behind my personal schedule for the release of the new Bemused. While I would like to be able to work full-time on this and other open source projects, that would be impossible unless someone sponsors me to do so.

That said, I would like to announce that the next version will be 1.8 (instead of 1.75) -- version 1.74 was going to be primarily a developer release anyway. I'm closing the 1.7x series since the next release will have a number of new features, and so that there will be an clear boundary between Ashley's last release and mine.

At this time, I cannot specify a firm date for 1.8, though I would like to be able to release it by the third week of April. An additional delay is better than doing a half-baked release, anyway...
